Lee Curtis

HR and Process Improvement Manager

After a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, including receiving the Bronze Star Medal and six Meritorious Service Medals, Lee Curtis joined HNSI in October 2008 as Human Resource and Process Improvement Manager. In addition to his military and command expertise, Lee is a seasoned veteran of HR and quality processes and procedures, and ISO 9000 management, and has over 20 years of quality management experience in leading U.S. Air Force quality assurance organizations. He most recently served as the Quality Assurance and Process Improvement Deputy Director for the 76th Maintenance Wing at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. He oversaw the quality assurance program and ISO 9001:2000 process audit program for a 7,000+ person organization. Lee led the wing-wide effort to achieve ISO recertification, the first for any Air Force air logistics center. Previously he directed the Special Mission Aircraft Branch at the Langley Air Force Base Headquarters Air Combat Command where he managed maintenance and personnel support for the U-2, RC-135 and MQ-1 programs, and coordinated $300M+ in contract logistics. He commanded the 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Beale Air Force Base serving as management authority for 500+ personnel in the maintenance and repair. Lee graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in International Affairs, and completed his Master’s degree in HR Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA. He is a certified Green Belt in Lean and Six Sigma process improvement from the University of Oklahoma Lean Institute.
